Ultimate Digital Declutter Guide

📱 Apps and Notifications

Remove unused apps, simplify your home screen, and protect your focus with smarter notification settings.

Delete apps you do not use

If you have not opened an app in 90 days, it probably does not need to stay. Deleting reduces distraction and frees storage.

  • Start with games, utilities, and one-off travel apps.
  • Remove duplicate apps that serve the same purpose.
  • Reinstall later if you truly miss one.

Group what remains

Keep your home screen focused on what you use daily.

  • One screen for daily essentials.
  • One folder for "sometimes" apps.
  • Move distractions off the first screen.

Turn off non-essential notifications

Most alerts do not need to break your focus. Keep only alerts that protect time or safety.

  • Disable social notifications and promotional pings.
  • Keep calendar, messages, and security alerts.
  • Use focus modes or do-not-disturb windows.
Review permissions once per quarter

Check which apps access your location, camera, or contacts. Revoke access that is not essential.
